If there's one thing we're passionate about, it's HOW our products are made and WHAT they are made from. As a brand, we specialise in creating beautiful contemporary 100% Wool fabrics and that means we only use the finest materials, while keeping our carbon footprint minimal and supporting British manufacturing.
So why do we use Wool?
The main reason we use Wool in all our fabrics is because it's a 100% natural and renewable product. It's a bi-product of sheep shearing, and as long as there is grass to graze on, every year sheep will produce a new fleece without depleting finite natural resources.
Did you know it also hypoallergenic? So as well as our fabric being manufactured from 100% Wool, we also use regenerated Wool inside our cushion pads. This means that our products are almost entirely recyclable as Wool is biodegradable, unlike a lot of man made fibres that are on the market. This is another reason that we ensure our yarn is 100% Wool, with no hidden nasties.
Wool is an insulator and helps regulate temperate, keeping us warm when its cool and cool when its warm. But also, it also helps to purify the air in interiors. It is also naturally flame retardant and thanks to its waxy coating, it makes for a more stain resistant fabric.
All these features make it an ideal material for home furnishings, wouldn't you agree?
Our favourite Wool to use, comes from the brilliant Bluefaced Leicester Sheep. They produce a Lustre Wool that has longer fibres and produces a yarn that has a beautiful silky sheen and is prized for its softness and durability.
The final reason that we love and use Wool so much is because it LASTS. We have designed timeless pieces that we want you to be able to keep forever. Wool products can be more expensive than some of the other fibres on the market, but you should think of it as cost per wear.
